Dear Dr. Kogen,
We found you on the internet after our son Daniel was born, on 1-4-06, and I contacted you by phone. I thought having a Mohel that was an M.D. would be in the best interests of our son's health.
Arranging your services was quite easy, and your preparation and concern were exceptional. You called on three separate occasions before the Bris to check on any difficulties we may be experiencing, and several times after. This was quite comforting.
As you know, I am Jewish, and my wife Catholic. We had agreed ahead of time to raise Daniel Jewish. However, as the Bris approached my wife became more and more apprehensive. It did not matter to you that we are a bi-religious couple, and in-fact, the ceremony was quite inviting. Your kindness and demeanor made the ritual more comfortable for Brenda, something she will not soon forget. The beautiful ceremony itself was an experience that will last us a lifetime.
We received so many compliments on what a great ceremony we had. Some of the attendees had never been to a Bris before and commented on how personable you were, about how much "fun" they had at the ceremony, and how comfortable it was. I have to agree. The Baby's discomfort was minimal (I wish my wife had only taken it so well...) and the ceremony was both relaxed and loving. I would not have imagined that a Bris could be such a memorable experience (I hardly remember mine).
So please accept our thanks and gratitude. Feel free to have anyone contact us for a personal recommendation, as we have only great things to say.
Wishing you all the best,
Ron and Brenda Gillman
